The museum is located inside the Monsignor Francesco Giacci cultural center, in the heart of Rocca Priora’s historic town center. Named after the sculptor Mario Benedetto Robazza, the exhibition hosts the most important collection of his works, entirely dedicated to Dante Alighieri’s Inferno from the Divine Comedy.
The exhibition, inaugurated in 2015, guides visitors through an immersive itinerary between sculptures and paintings, capable of visually expressing the poetic and dramatic intensity of the Dantean masterpiece.

The journey starts with a bronze “Prova D’Autore” (trial piece): a 13 meters long high relief sculpture which anticipates the artist’s future masterpiece – the monumental piece is now located on the Museum’s terrace and depicts Dante and Virgil entering the underworld. In the second room are displayed a series of preliminary sketches and oil paintings that examine the damned placed in the different circles of Hell: pencil sketches and somber canvases depict heretics, hypocrites, scrooges, wrathful and other protagonists of the Dantean universe, in a visually powerful sequence that is full of pathos.

The heart of the Museum lies in the majestic high relief sculptures in resin, mixed with marble dust, divided in eighteen panels that cover a total area of over 90 square meters: a unique portrayal of the 34 canti of the Inferno, whose sculptural quality, evident in the expressive details and dramatic movements, transforms Dante’s poetic vision in a sensorial experience. The piece, one of a kind for its conception and size, has a strong visual and emotional impact on viewers, turning the visit into a real journey in the imaginary world of the poet.

From its renovation in 2024, the Museum was enriched with QR code embedded panels and NFC tags to access additional digital content. An inclusive path for visually impaired visitors is also available, with guided tactile tours that allow people to explore the pieces through touch, thus making the sculptural narrative fully accessible.
