The museum, inaugurated in 2024 and set up in the old railway tunnel that ensured trains safe passage through the nearby town of Monte Compatri, celebrates the historical and deep relationship between the tuscolan town and wine culture, presenting visitors with an educational and technological exhibition.

The exhibition was developed along the renovated gallery, with the items on display ranging from original artifacts to traditional tools that document each phase of the wine production chain. From growing and harvesting grapes, through the transformation that happens with pressing, to bottling and barrel aging.
The museum also pays special attention to the traditional practices of transporting and preserving wine, thus reestablishing a tangible and intangible heritage rooted in the territory. Next to the gallery, the Museum includes the ex STEFER (Electrical Tramway and Railway Society of Rome) building, a historical building that, in 1941, became an essential junction of the Fiuggi-Alatri-Frosinone railway and its branches. On the ground floor is where the museum’s coffee bar and tasting area are located, two welcoming places where visitors can try local products combined with stories from experts.

On the upper floor of the building are multimedia spaces and a screening room, equipped to host cultural events, classes and thematic in depth studies.
The museum regularly organizes conferences, guided tastings, workshops and classes to approach wine culture for both beginners and aficionados. It is through these initiatives that the Museum promotes the enhancement of the area and preserves the knowledge of traditional and original wine harvesting techniques, acting as a landmark for the community and visitors alike. Thanks to an exhibition path that combines tradition, technology and active participation, the Museum presents itself as a dynamic and lively place, capable of narrating the story and the identity of a land tied to the art of grapevine and wine since time immemorial.
